Telangana Government on Friday said the government was focused on decongesting Hyderabad and expanding it, especially on the east side. Areas such as Uppal, LB Nagar, Keesara,Kohir,Warangal,Narayankhed,Jangoan and Shamirpet would be developed on par with upscale hubs, he said.
Addressing a meeting of builders, KTR said areas beyond Uppal and LB Nagar would see a lot of development, while the city would grow towards Pocharam, Medchal, Keesara and Shamirpet. “We are saying ‘look east’ now and it is primarily intended to develop IT sector in that region,” he said.
KTR said land registration rates would also be rationalised in different places. One of the biggest initiatives of the government would be to provide conclusive rights of title ownership to land owners. He explained that at the time of land mutation, officials would check what type of land it is and if there is clarity on ownership, would proceed with registration. “If this were to be challenged later, it will be the government’s responsibility to defend the land owner and his rights,” he said.
KTR said the government is mulling over to construct Metro Rail along the entire 160-km of Outer Ring Road. The government will also come up with subsidies for developing townships. Developers of the new townships – in an area of 50 acres each – would be given tax incentives.
